Kaua'i: The Garden Island

We visited the beautiful island of Kaua'i, supposed to be Hawai'i's most scenic. Kaua'i is lush, full of flowers and plants, with stunningly beautiful geology. The Hawai'ian islands were formed by a rupture in the earth's mantle, allowing the magma underneath to rise to the surface. Over the course of geologic time, the tectonic movement over this rupture has created a chain of islands. (From The Big Island Revealed Ultimate Guide). Kaua'i is the oldest island in the Hawai'ian chain.
