Grand Canyon National Park--Day 3

9 May, 2018

Eric's photo of the sunrise over the Grand Canyon from Yavapai Point.

While I struggled to pair my new camera with the Canon Android app through BlueTooth, Eric was able to shoot my old camera with a remote trigger on a cable, so he got the earlier shots. I need to get an adapter before Perseids shoot!

As the sky got brighter, I was able to shoot at last.

Eric got the photo just as the sun came over the horizon.

After the sunrise shoot, we returned to camp, where Eric took the opportunity to pose Mather with the sign for Mather Campground. At Zion, we would meet someone with another blue Crosstrek who said, "The Subaru in its natural habitat." (By which they meant, a National Park.)

We stopped at the well-stocked market for supplies, and Eric took a picture of the Arizona flag.

On our way out of Grand Canyon National Park, we stopped at Desert View.

You can see a good view of the twists in the Colorado River here, with Vishnu Temple on the left.

Eric took a picture of me hard at work.

Eric took a long telephoto view of the river in the depths of the canyon.

Eric took a picture of the primary attraction at Desert View, the human-constructed Watchtower. We had miles to drive and a very early schedule for the following day, so we did not have time to see it.

On to Antelope Canyon and other canyons.
